This Privacy Statement (the “Policies”) describes how we collect and process personal data at excoadvisors.com (the “Website”), owned and operated by Exceptional Business Advisors (“EBA,” “we,” or “us”). 

At EBA, we believe your privacy is important and take precautions to safeguard your data. 

The Policies are applicable to your engagement and interactions with EBA through our Website, social media, email accounts, chat, customer portals and any other platform we make available to our users to interact with us (collectively our “Properties”) and to any benefits, resources, content, and features made available through our Properties (collectively, the “Offerings”) from any device.

What data do we collect

Contact data: We may collect information about data subjects such as name and contact details (email, phone number, etc.) in order to communicate and facilitate the provision of our services with our clients or potential clients. For example, contact details of individuals who work for or on behalf of the clients, in order to carry out the client’s engagement with EBA.

Services data: Personal data may be provided to us by clients to the extent required to perform the services. 

Marketing information: We may collect information to respond to inquiries regarding our products and services or to provide you with information, reports, or updates.

Website visitor information: when you visit our website, we may collect information about your visit such as your IP address and the pages you visited and when you access our Properties or Offerings, we may collect information on how you use those services.

Technical information: this includes information about your computer, device, hardware, or software you use to access our Properties, such as IP address, device identifiers, your internet service provider, information about device operating systems and browsers, or other device or system-related specifications.

General location: The general, non-specific, location of your device, which we typically derive from your device’s IP address.

Data we collect when you contact us via our Contact Form

We may collect and store the following Contact Data from you in order to respond to your inquiries. 

  • Your Name
  • Your email address.
  • Your Phone Number.

Data we collect when you use our Business Value Calculator tool

We collect Contact, Services, and Marketing Data from you, including:

  • Your Name
  • Your email address.
  • Your Phone Number.
  • Your organization name
  • Your location (state)
  • Basic financial information about your business

Data about your organization is used to provide you with a baseline estimate of its current value in the market. It’s important to note that estimates are based on general assumptions and should be used for informational purposes only.

Data we collect automatically when you use the Website

We may collect and store Website visitor information when you access and use our Website for measurement and marketing purposes (to better understand our audience), or to make certain features available to you. For example:

  • Actions you take, for example, pages you visit and links you interact with. 
  • Your use of third-party services in relationship with our Offerings.
  • Content you share with us via email or any channel of communication between you and EBA. For example: text, images, audio, and other communications.

Additionally, we may collect technical information about you such as:

  • Online identifiers such as cookies and IP Addresses.

  • The general location of your device. 

General location data is used for compliance with the geographic requirements of our Terms of Use. For example, to ensure that you are located within our service area or to ensure your compliance with acceptable use of the Website.

Internet activity data

The Website uses measurement products (software) that allows us to make inferences about your needs and interests, and to provide personalized content. Through the use of such products, we may collect certain data and share it with our partners or vendors to deliver targeted advertising when you visit the Website or other websites. Cookies, clickstream data, and other similar technologies described above may be used in this process.

By using our website you grant your consent for us to process data collected through measurement products, whether owned by us or provided by third parties. What data may be shared

While we do not sell your data to third-parties, we may share your data with our partners and third-parties as required to provide our Offerings..

Some resources made available through the Website, such as our podcast, may be hosted on a third-party platform. When you access and interact with said resources, we may have to indirectly connect you to a third-party who may have access to your data such as your IP and other connection data. 

Additionally, we may share contact data, technical data, and website visitor data with service providers, including those we hire to assist in the security and protection of our Properties, those that help us commercialize our Offerings and those that help us measure Properties’ performance. While these identifiers provide information about your behavior, EBA does not share personally identifiable information to service providers

How we collect data

We collect contact information from you when you fill out any web form on the Website. For example, when you send an inquiry through our Contact Form or when you access and interact with resources made available in our Website, such as our Business Value Calculator tool.

We use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect Website Visitor Information and Technical Information about you when you use our website.

Additionally, we collect information directly from you through communications you hold with us through our Properties, such as email, chat and social media.

Data we retain

We retain your data only for the time they are required within the scope of why they were collected in the first place. 

We may retain certain data for limited purposes. For example, we might retain data if we’re subject to legal or contractual requirements. We might also retain limited data for limited or unlimited time when relevant to guarantee the security of our team and infrastructure, including our Properties.

Right to data portability

You have the right to access the information we process about you. To request a copy of your personal data or to inquire about how we process your data, please get in touch with us.

Right to delete

You have a right to request us to delete some of your personal data. For example:

  • Data we no longer need for the purpose they were originally collected for, 
  • Date we processed when we requested your consent and withdraw your consent
  • When you withdraw your consent (see below).

However, there are some cases in which we are unable to delete your personal data. Such cases include, but may not be limited to the following: 

  • It is still necessary to retain your data for processing to the end they were originally collected for. 
  • When EBA’s legitimate interest supersedes your desire to delete them such as to protect our Properties from wrongdoers, as permitted by law.
  • When EBA is required to retain your data by law.
  • When EBA needs your data to formulate, exercise or defend legal claims. 

Right to correct your data

You have the right to correct inaccuracies in the personal information we collect from you, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purpose for which we process it.

The right to non-discrimination

EBA does not and will not discriminate against you because you exercised any privacy rights under applicable state laws.

How we protect your data

At EBA, we are committed to protecting your data and privacy. We have taken technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data and privacy. 

We have implemented security measures to protect ourselves and our infrastructure from unauthorized access. Some of these measures include cipher, access and retention policies. However, no system is completely secure.

To protect your data as you use the Website, we strongly recommend you verify your connection to the Website is secure.This process may look slightly different depending on the platform and browser you’re using. Google has released an article describing how to verify if a site’s connection is secure on Chrome and Android. For other browsers and platforms, we recommend doing a quick Google search.

EBA will make every effort to respond to your request within forty-five (45) business days from when you contacted us or up to ninety (90) business days, in case of complex requests, as required by State Privacy laws.

Unless otherwise permitted by state law, only you may make a verifiable request related to your personal information. 

After submitting a request, EBA will take steps to verify your identity in order to properly respond and confirm that it is not a fraudulent request. In order to verify your identity, we will ask, at a minimum, that you provide your name and email address so that we can match this information with the information existing in our systems. However, we may require additional information which will be used solely for the purpose of verifying your identity and processing your request.

EBA may decline to take action for very specific requests. Please see Your Rights for more information about this. If we decline to take action regarding a request you have submitted,  we will inform you of our reason for declining to take action and provide instructions for how to appeal the decision. If the appeal is denied, EBA will also provide you with an online mechanism, if available, or other method through which you may contact your state attorney general’s office to submit a complaint.

Changes to the Policies

We might make changes to the Policies occasionally. If that happens, we will make reasonable efforts to create awareness of these changes among our user base. For example, we might add a banner notifying changes to our policies are taking place and when they are effective.
